A friend of mine, Alex Rude, posted this on facebook and it is exactly how I've been feeling; I just didn't know it until I read her note on it.
READ IT.

Dear Anti-Americans,
A vote for McCain is a vote in favor of your personal preference. Although I did not vote for the republican candidate, I have no loss of respect or negative feelings toward that action. This is what democracy is about. Everyone has the right to vote, and everyone has the right to their own opinion. I have no problem with McCain supporters.

However, I have a large problem with anti-Americans. America is fucked? You're moving to Canada? I think many Americans will reunite behind this idea: go ahead. To denounce your country based on the fact that the candidate you opposed won the election is absurd. To assume and argue that our entire country will fail behind one man is ridiculous. You do not have to agree with all of his views, but show some respect for this country.

You cannot deny that Obama has a way with words. He speaks in a way that unites people, not all people, but many. You will never hear me proclaim "fuck Bush" or see any anti-Bush bumper stickers on the back of my car, but I will agree that the majority of our public is unhappy with our current administration. Obama promoted change, McCain promoted similarities. That's the way it went.

You don't even have to agree with that last part. I will still retain respect for those who oppose it. But seriously, to Canada? Go, right now. I'll help you pack. Obama has yet to be inaugurated. He hasn't even taken office! And yet you are one-hundred percent sure, at this point, that our country is doomed? Get over yourself. Just because your support fell to the losing candidate, you cannot convince me the winner will ruin us. You do not know the future. Give him a chance.

I'm appalled at the reaction of these particular McCain supporters. Go ahead, scream "America is fucked" at the top of your lungs. But know that when you do, you have lost my respect. I hope you are proud to be, based on your views, America's fair-weather fan. Wallow in your disrespect while true Americans stand by their country. I do not know that Obama will be a president without flaws, in fact I am certain he won't, but he is our next president and I will respect him and allow him the chance to prove himself.

Get off your soapbox and get a grip on reality. You aren't cool, you aren't intelligent, you aren't even political. You're ridiculous.

Congratulations to the African American citizens, you have been waiting too long for this day.

To the supporters of our next president: he did it! Make it rain. :)
To the respectful supporters of John McCain: good effort, be flexible.
To the anti-Americans: grow the fuck up, or get the fuck out.

Travis (a republican friend of hers) said it best: "I still love this country, and I support Obama as he will soon be my commander and chief." Follow his republican lead. Don't be ignorant.

beautifully written.
